We have given a complete upgrade to our Southern Indiana Segment 4 that travels from the Abby at Saint Meinrad, through the Hoosier National Forest, before reconnecting with the Ohio River near Derby.

We have given a complete upgrade to our Southern Indiana Segment 4 that travels from the Abby at Saint Meinrad, through the Hoosier National Forest, before reconnecting with the Ohio River near Derby.
From Saint Meinrad, you follow country roads through Adyeville and Sassafras before entering the Hoosier National Forest. Before catching a glimpse of the Ohio River just north of Derby, you will follow parts of the Two Lakes Loop, Tipsaw Lake, and Morgan River trails for a little over 9 miles of the 38-mile segment.
Trail at a Glance
In the Hoosier National Forest, primitive or roadside camping is allowed on NF land away from developed campgrounds, and anywhere your camping equipment does not block developed trails or road rights-of-way. It is unnecessary to check in with the Forest Service when you camp overnight.
