Briana "Rocky Mountain High" DeSanctis is close to becoming the first woman to complete the entire 6,800-mile American Discovery Trail solo. For the last two years, she has journeyed from Delaware to California, a testament to perseverance and the spirit of exploration.

But with just 200 miles left, it is anything but a sprint to the finish. In an interview with a television station in her home state of Maine last month, Rocky explains why she is apprehensive about finishing.

To that end, last week, after reaching Sacramento, Rocky took a break, jumped on a red-eye Greyhound Bus, and headed south for a live appearance on the Adventurers Club of Los Angeles livestream.

🥾🥾 Rocky should finish in about two to three weeks – or maybe longer. 🤷‍♀️

We've also added links to trail conditions along the three sections of the Tahoe Rim Trail that the American Discovery Trail follows:

Illinois - North

Segment 2 - Bureau to Joliet

Hiker Notes have been restructured for more intuitive reading, ensuring easier access to information about services. Plus, we've included details about a newly installed Amazon Locker near Ottawa, offering added convenience for your trail journey.

Segment 1 - Oldtown to Hancock

Added the Mountain Life Kitchen in Paw Paw, West Virginia. A cozy and family-owned Italian restaurant that we visited this week and that we love! Comfort food for the hiking soul.
