Missouri Segment 7 – Katy Trail to St. Louis

We have updated our guide for Missouri Segment 7 - Katy Trail (Veterans Memorial Bridge) to St Louis (Illinois State Line).  The update includes increased resolution of maps to our standard 2 miles per page.  We added more than 20 new hiker notes and waypoints to the Turn-by-Turn Directions and The ADT Guide on Gaia GPS.

Illinois South Segment 1 - Missouri State Line to Prairie du Rocher

The American Discovery Trail crosses Illinois in the northern and southern parts of the state.  Along the ADT Southern Route, the trek across Illinois begins with a segment reaching from the Missouri State Line to Prairie du Rocher.  The update includes increased map resolution, a dozen more hiker notes, waypoints to the Turn-by-Turn Directions, and The ADT Guide on Gaia GPS.

Illinois South Segment 2 - Prairie du Rocher to Grade Tower

Over a third of the way through Illinois South Segment 2, the American Discovery Trail passes through Chester – Home of Popeye!  Or home of his creator, Elzie C. Segar.  There is a park honoring him, complete with a 6-foot, 900-pound bronze statue of Popeye.  The city is all in.  There are numerous granite statues of the Popeye characters throughout Chester.  Even a Character Trail See: http://www.chesterill.com/character-trail/
One more, then I'll stop.  The Popeye Picnic and parade are held the weekend after Labor Day.
